Seen here with an indigo wash, these 5-pocket Standard Jeans from A.P.C. are made from unwashed Japanese denim and have been cut to a straight, loose leg. Belt loops cut from the same fabric sit around the waistband which is fastened by a single silver button that has an engraved 'A.P.C. rue Madame près du Luxembourg' design. Centrally underneath, the fly is also fastened by branded buttons. The 5-pocket design offers plenty of space to carry essential items with stress points strengthened by customised silver rivets and a jean-style yoke has been added onto the reverse. Contrasting caramel-coloured top stitching can be seen across the design. Although quite rigid on first wear, the denim will soften over time to your wear pattern and an information booklet accompanies each pair to suggest different wash options.
Founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou, A.P.C. is a French clothing brand that first gained a following for its raw denim styles before developing full ranges of menswear and womenswear with a certain simplicity that brings a premium touch to everyday. For this season, Touitou introduced the SS20 ready-to-wear show by saying “The older I grow, the less subtle I want to be,” which was then demonstrated through a focus on colour across ‘70s inspired silhouettes.
